4 youths of West Bengal beaten up in Tamil Nadu, case registered in Murshidabad

The fire of the ongoing language dispute in Maharashtra has now also reached Tamil Nadu. A case of beating four youths of West Bengal has come to light in Thiruvallur district of the state. Four youths have been beaten to talk in Bengali. Local people talking in Bengali considered these youths as Bangladeshi and brutally beat up. In this regard, the family of the victims filed a police complaint in Murshidabad district on 17 July. According to the complaint, Sujan Sheikh, his brothers Milan Sheikh, Sahil Sheikh and Babu Sheikh went to Chennai three weeks ago. There he was engaged in construction work. Where he was beaten up. The incident took place on the evening of 15 July, when he was in Thiruvallur.

When heard talking in Bengali, beaten
The complaint lodged by Sujan’s father said that when some local people asked him name and address and heard talking in Bangla, he started beating him with iron rods and sticks. All four were injured in this attack and immediately returned to Murshidabad after first aid at Government Medical College Thiruvallur. The victim Sujan and Milan’s father Ashabul Sheikh told that my younger son’s hand broke. He has undergone surgery and is still admitted in the nursing home. The elder son has also suffered serious injuries and both will have to stay in bed for several weeks.
