Mishra identified the flag while studying a picturesque painting of the Ramayana from Mewar and later found references to it in the Ayodhya Kanda of the Valmiki Ramayana. The flag to be hoisted features three symbols—ॐ, the sun, and the Covidar tree.

The Covidar tree is a hybrid of the Mandar and Parijat trees, developed by sage Kashyapa, exemplifying ancient botanical hybridization. The sun symbolizes Lord Ram’s solar lineage, while Om represents the eternal spiritual sound.

Ahead of the ceremony, a comprehensive cleanliness drive is being conducted in Ayodhya to ensure a welcoming and pristine environment for the incoming devotees and tourists.
