New Delhi
Since 1 August 2025, new rules related to UPI are being implemented. If you pay daily from Paytm, PhonePe, GPAY or any other UPI app, then these changes are important for you. The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), which manages the UPI system, has set these limits so that the pressure on the system is reduced and there will be problems like transaction fail or delay. These changes will not affect the necessary transactions, but limit is being imposed on things like balance check, status refresh. NPCI says that this will make UPI more smooth and reliable, especially when more people do transactions together.
What new limits will be installed on UPI from 1 August?
From next month, UPI users will be able to check their account balance only 50 times. Apart from this, users who repeatedly check the link bank accounts linked to their mobile number, they will also be able to do so only 25 times. These limits have been brought so that the system is not loaded without need, which often makes speed slow or transactions fail.
What is the reason for new rules?
NPCI i.e. National Payments Corporation of India said that in April and May 2025, a lot of load was seen on the UPI platform. The biggest reason for this was that people kept checking the balance repeatedly or refreshed the status of the same transaction repeatedly. This increased the pressure on the server and sometimes led to the delay or failure in transactions. For this reason, new rules are now being brought so that the system remains better and fast.
What changes will happen?
You will be able to check the balance only 50 times a day. You will not be able to see the details of the bank account connected to your mobile number more than 25 times a day. The status of one transaction can be checked only 3 times, that too must be a difference of at least 90 seconds every time. Auto debit payments like Netflix, EMI, electricity bills will now be processed only at the scheduled time.
Auto payments will also be affected
Traders or companies who take payment from customers through auto payment, will now have to receive payment according to the time slots fixed by NPCI. This will enable the payment system to become more organized. However, common users will not have any special problem with this.
UPI became the backbone of Digital India
Today UPI has not just an app but has reached every street, locality and tea shop. “Brother, should I scan QR?” Like sentences are now heard. This step of NPCI has been taken to make the UPI network more secure and reliable.
Changes are necessary to maintain facilities
As the facility of digital payment is increasing, such changes become necessary to make the system smart and durable. Through these small but effective rules, every user will get easy payment without any interruption.
