The World Boxing Cup Finals 2025 witnessed an impressive performance from India, led by reigning World Champion Jasmine Lamboria (57kg) and two-time former World Champion Nikhat Zareen (51kg). Both athletes advanced to the gold medal matches, contributing to a remarkable total of 15 finalists for the host nation, the highest among the eight competing countries at the Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex.

Jasmine showcased her skills with a dominant 5:0 victory over Kazakhstan’s Ulzhan Sarsenbek, a former Asian Youth Champion. Her performance was marked by exceptional defensive tactics and fluid combinations. India’s Triple Victory Over Uzbekistan

In a thrilling session, Nikhat spearheaded a remarkable triple victory against Uzbekistan, joined by fellow boxers Sachin Siwach and Hitesh Gulia. Nikhat’s experience shone through as she executed a tactical yet aggressive fight, landing precise left hooks against Ganieva Gulsevar. Sachin (60kg) took an early lead and skillfully maintained his distance to outmaneuver Dilshod Abdumurodov, while Hitesh (70kg) effectively countered Mukhammadazizbek Ismoilov’s attacks to secure a decisive win.


Mixed Results in Afternoon Session

The afternoon session brought a mix of outcomes for the Indian team. Pawan (55kg) and Jadumani (50kg) both achieved impressive victories, with Pawan overcoming England’s Ellis Trowbridge after a challenging start, winning 5:0. Jadumani dominated Australia’s Omer Izaz, applying relentless pressure and utilizing sharp hooks to keep his opponent on the defensive. However, Jugnoo (85kg) faced elimination after a 5:0 loss, and Neeraj Phogat (65kg) fought valiantly against Olympic medalist Chen Nien-Chin but lost by a narrow 3:2 split decision. Sumit (75kg) earned a bronze medal after a 4:1 defeat to Poland’s Michal Jarlinski.
